The United Downs Deep Geothermal Project (UDDGP) in Cornwall, England has reached its target depth on 23.4.2019. The well UD-1 has a depth of 5275 m MD / 5057 TVD.

Over the next days, geophysical logs and hydraulic tests will be run in order to give an indication of the target structure’s permeability. Subsequently, the rig will be moved to start drilling the second well UD-2.

GeoT contributes its reservoir modelling expertise to the United Downs project within the framework of two projects (S4CE / MEET) under the Horizon 2020 EU framework program for research and innovation. S4CE is the abbreviation for Science4CleanEnergy and MEET stand for Multidisciplinary and multi-context demonstrationof EGS exploration and Exploitation Techniques and potentials.
